Navel is our second brain

Navel, is our bodies first scar. A scar that
reminds us of our origin and our roots. This
body is only a piece of extension, cut off
from the umbilical cord. The navel served
as a gateway to our survival in the womb,
and it continues to be, even now out in this
world.
In this phenomenal world , everything is just
a manifestation of energy, vibrations and
radiations. We are constantly interacting
with these cosmic energy which we may not
be aware but its happening.
Sufis and the yogis believe that the navel
connects us to the cosmos. They are the gateway
for the flow of cosmic energy. Hence, they
are also called us solar plexus, the point
that absorbs the sun’s prana and also the
cosmic radiations.
Navel had always been the spot of spiritual
significance in various traditions all over
the globe.
In acupuncture and acupressure, the navel
area is used to cure many diseases.
In many martial arts, the awareness of navel
during body movements is believed to give
immense energy and intuitive awareness about
the opponents next move.
According to hatha yoga tradition, human bodies
have 72000 energy channels, and most of these
energy channels passes through your navel
area. And that makes this area very important.
Hence it is also called as manipura chakra
Manipura chakra is associated with dynamism
and radiating energy throughout body.
Patanjali says in the yoga sutra about naval,
It says nabhi chakra kaya vyuha jnanam
By focusing on your navel area, you can get
the knowledge of the entire body.
Yogis believe that the navel is where consciousness
resides and the consciousness flows throughout
the body from the navel area.
You can tap the potentials that lies in your
navel through many practices and yogic techniques.
Keeping your navel area free of impurities
and clusters can help the prana to flow freely
across your system and can elevate yourself
spiritually.
Here are few techniques that can activate
your navel plexus.
1. 1) Mandukaasana
This asana involves strong compression to
your navel region which can activate your
nabhi marma, the formless energy spot.
Here is how you can do this aasana.
1. 1) Sit is vajraasan with both hands under
your navel as shown.
2. 2) Exhaling slowly bend down and stay there
holding your breath for six seconds. Feel
the compression in your navel. You can keep
your hands in three different ways.
3. 3) And
inhaling slowly rise up.
The intense pressure activates the plexus
and thereby facilitates efficient flow of
prana in your body.
1. 2) Nabhi chitiksha
In Ayurveda, oiling and massaging the belly
button is practiced as an effective treatment
for abdominal issues. Remember grandmothers
taming down crying babies by applying oil
in their tummy? It was not a blind tradition,
but it had a deep science behind it.
Take few drops of warm coconut oil or til
oil and apply it inside your navel area and
around the navel. Gently massage it around
in clockwise direction.
Then cup your navel area with your fingers
and massage it inward and outward. The essence
of the oil is believed to flow through the
nadis throughout the body which can reduce
the energy blockages.
1. 3) Bastrika
Bastrika is an excellent practice to generate
heat in your solar plexus. In bastrika you
make rapid movements in and out. The heat
generated has the potential to ignite the
solar energy stored in your navel.
Navel holds many secrets of our body. As the
yoga sutra says, focusing on it can reveal
the mysteries of our body. Follow these practices
and believe in your gut feelings because navel
is your second brain!
